Organized in collaboration with the 112CO2 project (H2020-EIC-FETPROACT), the event featured experts from academia, industry, and policy.
The webinar opened with S. Bonella (CECAM), followed by key presentations: Antonios Fysekidis on the EIC Pathfinder program, Maximilian Kuhn addressing methane splitting's regulatory challenges, and Adélio Mendes discussing carbon as a hydrogen carrier. Pedro Furtado concluded with insights on decarbonization as a network challenge.
The discussions emphasized methane splitting’s potential for producing clean, cost-effective hydrogen and solid carbon, offering a critical pathway toward decarbonization in Europe. The event also underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration and innovation to achieve these goals.
This second webinar in the series sparked meaningful dialogue among the research community, policymakers, and stakeholders, advancing the objectives of both the 112CO2 project and other EU-funded initiatives.
